The following steps illustrate a typical installation and the procedures used by facory-trained LLumar installers. |
| |
Step 1 -Prepare the Location |
Remove all objects close to the window or installation area.
Cover the area below the window with a drop cloth to avoid dirtying the floor. |

| |
Step 2 - Cleaning the Window |
Spray the entire glass area with the cleaning solution (Dirt-off ). Scrape the glass thoroughly with your triumph scraper, to remove all contaminants. Spray the glass again with Dirt-off. Scrub the glass surface with the nylon scrub pad.
Use a soft towel on the window corners to collect any excess solution and dirt.

Step 3 - Liner Removal Methods |
Spray with Dirt-off a nearby window to be used as the holding board and lay the film on it with the liner facing you.
Carefully peel the release liner back, exposing only a few inches of adhesive. Spray this exposed adhesive surface with Dirt-Off, and lay the liner back in place. This will make the liner ready to peel away the moment you are ready for the lay-up. Now you may do the "Final Clean" (See step 4).

| |
Step 4 - Final Clean |
Apply a consistent spray mist of Dirt-off on all of the glass.
Using your channel squeegee, start from the corner and move horizontally (across) the window in one continuous sweep of the glass, being careful not to leave "tracks" where the tool has stopped and started again.

| |
Step 5 - Installing the Film |
Spray the entire glass surface with Dirt-Off, though avoid excessive spray near the top edge of the pane.
Pull the release liner off the film laying on the nearby pane. Uniformly spray the exposed adhesive with Dirt-Off, but only along the top edge. Gently pull away the film (holding it by the extreme upper corners) and install it on the window that you have just cleaned following steps 2 and 4, and where you actually want it installed. Make sure there are no dry spots on the glass, which could hamper your ability to slide the film into its proper position.
Spray the film you have just laid up with Dirt-off. This step will allow you to squeegee the window without displacing the film. Now, use the squeegee to make 3 or 4 strokes to tack the film in place, preventing it from moving during film trimming.

| |
Step 6 - trimming the Film |
trim the edges of the film according to the shape of the window, and then squeegee the entire installation (film on glass).

Step 7 - Final Installation |
Spray the film surface and do the final squeegeeing. Squeegee the entire glass area with firm, consistent pressure, using overlapping strokes.
Wrap a soft towel or diaper around one of the corners of your hard card, and use it as a squeegee to remove any moisture left, especially along borders.

Step 8 - Inspection |
Perform a visual inspection to ensure quality.
