Kent J. Davies
Kent J. Davies is Senior Vice President of Solutia Inc. and President of the CPFilms business. Prior to joining Solutia, Mr. Davies was Senior Vice President of Marketing, Regulatory, and R&D for United Industries Corp., the second largest and most rapidly growing player in the U.S. consumer lawn and garden and household insect control markets. At United, Mr. Davies was part of a successful executive team that quadrupled the size of the business over a four-year period while integrating acquisitions, launching innovative new products, and growing market share.
From 1994-2001, Mr. Davies held positions of increasing responsibility at Kimberly-Clark Corp., serving in various general management and marketing capacities including General Manager of the $600 million Global Medical Non-Wovens Business and General Manager of the European Healthcare Business. While at 3M Company from 1991-1994, Mr. Davies work focused on global product strategy, new product development, and new product introduction. Mr. Davies began his business career at General Mills, where he held sales and sales management positions from 1989-1991. He earned a M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota, and a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.
Ken Vickers
Ken Vickers is Chairman Emeritus of CPFilms Inc. Mr. Vickers joined Solutia Inc. in 1999 as President and GM of CPFilms following its acquisition from Courtaulds PLC. Ken joined Courtaulds in 1963 and worked in a variety of businesses in a number of countries before joining CPFilms in 1993.
Soon after joining Courtaulds as a chemical engineer, Ken lived and worked in the Soviet Union for 18 months where he led a successful team negotiating the contract and building of an acrylic fiber plant in Belarus.
Ken spent 10 years in France as managing director of Courtaulds France (Fibres and Film) and three years as President of Courtaulds Fibres North America. Following this, Ken managed Courtaulds films businesses worldwide for a period of five years.
Prior to moving to the USA to manage the CPFilms business, Ken was a member of the Courtaulds Executive and brought CPFilms into Solutia Inc. as part of Courtaulds restructuring in 1999 and eventual sale.
Ken holds a Master of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham UK.
